Paragraph 14a EnWG

Version 1.1 by Bart Verheecke on 2024/05/10 15:10

Paragraph 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG) addresses the management of energy demand to prevent overloads in the electricity grid. It allows grid operators to temporarily reduce the output of controllable energy-consuming assets during high demand periods, ensuring grid stability and security of supply. In return, consumers benefit from reduced grid fees. The measure mandates all new controllable devices installed after January 1, 2024, to comply with these requirements, enhancing the grid's ability to integrate renewable energy sources effectively and sustainably.
