In the United Kingdom, the regional electricity network is managed by a group of companies known as Distribution Network Operators (DNOs). These operators are responsible for the maintenance and distribution of electricity across various regions. The primary DNOs in the UK are:

  1. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN): Responsible for the regions of northern Scotland and southern England.
  2. Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN): Manages the networks in southern Scotland, North Wales, and Merseyside.
  3. Northern Powergrid: Covers the northeast of England and Yorkshire.
  4. Electricity North West (ENW): Serves the northwest of England.
  5. Western Power Distribution (WPD): Active in the Midlands, southwest England, and South Wales.
  6. UK Power Networks (UKPN): Manages networks in London, the southeast, and eastern England.

Additionally, the National Grid Electricity Transmission plc manages the high-voltage network in England and Wales and maintains connections with Scotland and other countrie
